Perfect tournament finish for Marko

A perfect 300 game rolled by Nate Marko highlighted the final weekend of competition as the 10th annual Seven Valley Youth Bowling Tournament finished up play this past Saturday and Sunday.
It was the second 300 game of Marko’s burgeoning career, this latest string of 12 consecutive strikes coming during the Team Event at Hi-Lanes in Homer. That perfection helped to carry the 281 Bowl representative to the boys’ all-around title, while Marko also went on to share second place in the Singles Event’s B Division held at Cort-Lanes in Cortland.
The annual tournament had two new sponsors this season, Express Mart and the Phelps Family from Cortland. Express Mart is donating a bicycle to be given away at the Seven Valley Youth Bowling Banquet being heldSunday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. at the Homer Elks Club.
Banquet tickets are available from all youth coaches or by contacting Brenda Allen.
Tournament champions will be toasted at the dinner, including the Homer Men & Boys squad that rolled a 2,737 handicapped score at their Hi-Lanes home lanes to win the A Division title according to the posted, and unofficial, final standings. The champs were a mere 16 pins better than runner-up Tallamage Tire out of 281 Bowl.
Other team winners were 281 Bowl’s Phelps Family in the B Division, Trucks and Stuff out of the Corona Club in Groton in the C Division and 281 Bowl’s R&B’s in the D Division.

Also among the boys, Jesse Vyskocil (Corona Club) won in the B Division, Brenton Hapgood (Hi-Lanes) the C Division and Dustin Perry (Cort-Lanes) the D Division.
