CHS spikers at Whitesboro tonight
The fifth-seeded Cortland High volleyball team (11-5) visits No. 4 Whitesboro (8-4) tonight at 7 p.m. in a Section 3 Class A quarterfinal match.
The winner advances to the semifinals Tuesday or Wednesday at a neutral site, facing the survivor of another quarterfinal match pitting top-seeded East Syracuse-Minoa (14-3) against either No. 8 New Hartford (7-7) or No. 9 Camden (6-7).
In Class D tournament action, top-seeded Cincinnatus takes a perfect 13-0 record into today’s 6 p.m. quarterfinal contest against No. 8 Owen D. Young (6-11), which eliminated No. 9 New York Mills 10-25, 25-16, 25-15, 25-14 on Tuesday. Today’s winner will face either No. 4 Remsen (14-5) or fifth-seeded Brookfield (6-6) in the semifinals this Tuesday or Wednesday at a neutral site.
CHS vs. Homer Rematches
As the regular season winds down, Cortland High and Homer Central basketball teams will resume their court rivalry on Friday evening in a pair of OHSL Freedom Division encounters.
Cortland boys are in second place in the National Division standings and coming off a loss at Jamesville-DeWitt on Tuesday. The Purple Tigers (11-5) will be traveling to Homer (6-10), the Trojans fresh from a 55-42 win over Mexico. The junior varsity teams get the twin bill started at 5 p.m.

During the Christmas break, Cortland teams beat Homer in tournament action that also counted towards the league standings.
