The Purple Lions had eight competitors qualify for the state meet being held June 7-8 at Middletown High School.
Abbey Yatsko is just a freshman, but she will be making her second trip to states for the Purple Lions and will be competing in three events.
At the State Qualifier, Yatsko won the 200-meter dash in 26.26 seconds and placed second on the 100m dash with a time of 12.82. The youngster also ran anchor leg of the Dryden’s 400m relay team with Amy DeGaetano, Rachel Wojcik and Mackenzie Todd that placed second in Division II and fourth overall with a clocking of 50.95.
