Late run gives Gator’s win

Gator’s Tavern pushed a run across in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday night to score a 7-6 Cortland Women’s Slowpitch League C Division win over Franklin Rock/Central City Bar & Grill.
In other C Division games, Paddy’s Pub/281 Bowl beat Hairy Tony’s 10-2 and’s Pizza was a 20-9 winner over Ivan’s.
In D Division play, Red Jug Pub was a 13-7 winner over Bob’s Riverside while Palm Gardens defeated Homer Logging 5-3 and Stone Lounge was a 22-7 winner over Deli Downtown. In the E Division, Dark Horse bested Dave’s Automotive 16-2, The Tavern topped Ho-Beau’s/Doug’s Fish Fry 15-7 and St. Charles/Tioga Hardwoods outscored Easy Street/Stupid Choppers 12-5.
Gator’s Tavern 7, Franklin Rock/Central City Bar & Grill 6: Gator’s trailed 5-0 before scoring six runs in the bottom of the fifth. Franklin Rock/Central City scored once in the top of the seventh to tie it before Gator’s got the game-winner in the bottom of the frame, no details reported. Andrea Turcsik (RBI), Denise DuBrava and winning pitcher Arlone Chrysler all went 2-for-3 for the winners, while Katrina Fox went 2-for-2 with a triple for FR/CC.
Paddy’s Pub/281 Bowl 10, Hairy Tony’s 2: Lynn Baker led the 15-hit paddy’s Pub/281 Bowl attack by going 3-for-3, while Lindy West went 2-for-2 and Katie Mayo 2-for-3. Anna Whitmore went 2-for-3 with a double for Hairy Tony’s.’s Pizza 20, Ivan’s 9: Allyson Barber’s three-run double in the seven-run top of the fifth gave’s Pizza, which trailed 5-3 after four innings, the lead for good in the contest. Barber finished 4-for-5 with the double and three RBIs, while Tiffany Hubbard (double, homer), Alexis Young, Tisha Hollenbeck, Tanya Bateer and Jamie Sage all went 3-for-5. Beth Seamans went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs for Ivan’s.
Red Jug Pub 13, Bob’s Riverside 7: Molly Reagan went 3-for-4 and scored twice for Red Jug Pub, while teammates Alissa French and Shannon Allen both went 2-for-3 and Emily Quinlan was cited for her defense. Sue Apley and Wendy Lockwood both went 2-for-3 for Bob’s Riverside.
Palm Gardens 5, Homer Logging 3: Carrie Sullivan and Kathy Lester both went 3-for-4 for Palm Gardens, which turned a double play to end the fifth inning, while Tara Wilhoit had a double and triple. Sherri DeWitt homered for Homer Logging.
Stone Lounge 22, Deli Downtown 7: Julie Bennett had a double and a triple for Stone Lounge, while winning pitcher Carrie Makela doubled twice. Erin Moore hit a homer for Deli Downtown.
Dark Horse 16, Dave’s Automotive 2: Two players, Heather Henry and Kelli Griswold, went 5-for-5 for Dark Horse, while Jamie Reynolds went 4-for-5 and Brittany Maloff went 3-for-5. Haley Fredenburg led Dave’s Automotive by going 3-for-4, while Halee Riley was 2-for-4.
The Tavern 15, Ho-Beau’s/Doug’s Fish Fry 7: Doubles by Savannah Hempstead, Julie Fuller and Kathy Curry paced a 15-hit attack for The Tavern, while Katie Reif tripled twice and Cris Colasurdo doubled in the losing cause.
St. Charles/Tioga Hardwoods 12, Easy Street/Stupid Choppers 5: All of the extra-base hits in the game belonged to St. Charles/Tioga Hardwoods, Chrissy Griffin and Stacy Billings with a triple apiece and doubles by Donna Cruz and Sarah Cobb.
Meldrim Painters Prevail

Kyle Rogers went 4-for-6 with two home runs and a triple and Chris Carpenter was 5-for-5 with two doubles as Meldrim Paint beat Brix Puberia 22-10 in a Cortland Men’s Slowpitch League C Division softball game.
Winning pitcher Jason Seamans (double) and John Schlenker both went 4-for-5 for the winners, who also got a homer from Bryan Morton. Jeremy Baker went 3-for-4 with a double for Brix, with Tigh Barber, Cody Peak and Dennis Russell slamming a homer apiece in the losing cause.
