Jets first practice date July 26

The New York Jets will arrive in town on July 25 for their fourth training camp at SUNY Cortland as preparations for the 2013 NFL season begin in earnest.
After moving on on campus, the players will take the field for the first time Friday, July 26, at 10 a.m. in the first of 15 practices that will be open to the public. There are 14 practice dates and the annual Green & White scrimmage will take place Saturday, Aug. 3, at 6 p.m on the SUNY Cortland campus.
“We are eager to once again welcome the New York Jets back to our campus for their 2013 training camp,” SUNY Cortland President Erik J. Bitterbaum said. “Our partnership continues to open new and exciting opportunities for our students, our alumni and our community. We are incredibly proud that our campus and staff are able to provide the kind of top-quality, professional experience this elite athletic organization requires.”
“We’re looking forward to our return to SUNY Cortland,” new Jets general manager John Idzik said. “My visit earlier this spring only served to confirm what staff members and coaches told me prior to my visit. The facilities and fields are top notch and the people are very warm and hospitable. The environment provides an excellent setting for training camp as we continue our preparations for the upcoming season.”
At each training camp location fans will experience the excitement of competition with a close view of practice. Fans can also gear up with their favorite 2013 merchandise at the Jets Shop tent and enjoy Jets Fest, an interactive theme park with skill challenges and inflatable rides.
Gates and Jets Fest will be open from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. for the regular practice sessions. For the Green & White practice, gates and Jets Fest will be open from 4-8:30 p.m
Following each practice, Jets players will sign autographs for the fans along the sideline. Available players will sign autographs if weather, time and other circumstances permit. However, please note that autographs are not guaranteed.
In addition, Gen Jets Kids Club members will have a kids-only player autograph area at all practices. Space is limited to the first 100 kids each day, so fans are encouraged to check in their children upon arrival.
Admission to all training camp activities is free, but tickets are required. Fans can register and print tickets in the coming weeks on newyorkjets.com/camp. The entrance to SUNY Cortland is located on Stratton Drive off Route 281. Parking attendants will greet fans at the entrance and direct them to the camp parking area, There is a fee for parking. All attendees will be subject to security procedures upon entry, including screening and bag searches.
After camp breaks in Cortland, fans are invited to watch two practice sessions at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, N.J., Aug. 20 will be an exclusive practice for Jets season ticket holders at 12:30 p.m. with an open public practice slated for Aug. 21 at 11:15 a.m.
The Jets invite all fans to attend open practices. Please note, however, that practice may be canceled or closed to the public in the event of inclement weather.
