A perfect weekend for Cutia’s, Gator’s

Cutia’s Pizza and Gator’s Tavern softball squads each enjoyed 4-0 softball weekends in Jim Partigianoni Coed Slowpitch League.
Cutia’s blanked Woodman’s 12-0 in a five-inning contest and posted a 10-3 win over ABL Lumber in Sunday make-up games. The Pizzamakers kicked off the weekend a 12-9 victory over MAC Tools and an 8-6 triumph over ABL Lumber Saturday.
Gator’s defeated Da’s Yankees 8-3 and MAC Tools 16-3 Sunday. On Saturday, Gator’s topped Woodman’s 18-0 in five innings and downed MAC Tools 9-6.
Rounding out the weekend action, Da’s Yankees and Woodman’s split two games. The Yankees won 16-15 while Woodman’s posted a 3-1 triumph.
Cutia’s Pizza 12, Woodman’s 0: Bob Craig went 3-for-3 and Scott Thomas was 2-for-2 with each having a double and two RBIs to power the Cutia’s win. Dave Hubbard (4 RBIs) and Alexis Young (2 RBIs) added 2-for-3 efforts with one double each.
Mike Cullip hit a double for Woodman’s.
Cutia’s Pizza 10, ABL Lumber 3: A home run by Andrew Pierce in the top of the sixth inning and a round-tripper by Dave Hubbard in the seventh helped Cutia’s pull away for the victory. Pierce and Hubbard were each 2-for-3 with a double, home run and 3 RBIs in the game.
Allison Barber went 2-for-3 with a double for ABL Lumber.
Cutia’s Pizza 12, MAC Tools 9: Cutia’s built a 12-5 lead over four innings before MAC Tools made a valiant comeback effort. Dave Hubbard, Jim Hogan and Tim Dovi each went 3-for-3 for the winners. Hogan had two triples and one double, Hubbard added a double and triple while Dovi smacked a home run.
Jamie Babcock was 4-for-4 with a double for MAC Tools with Pat Carrier going 3-for-3 with a triple.
Cutia’s Pizza 8, ABL Lumber 6: Anna Whitmore was 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs to pace the quick-start Cutia’s offense, which scored six first-innings runs and kept the lead until the end. Dave Hubbard, Jim Hogan and Tom Cullip each swung 2-for-3 bats with one double.
J. Wilkins, M. Stevens and S. Hart were each 2-for-3 for ABL Lumber.
Gator’s 8, Da’s Yankees 3: Jose Feliciano was 3-for-3 with a triple and Bill Decker was 2-for-3 with a double, home run and three RBIs as Gator’s built an 8-0 lead through five innings. Pitcher Jack Barker helped his own cause by going 2-for-4 with a double and two ribbies.
Tony Whitt was 3-for-3 for the Yankees.
Gator’s 16, MAC Tools 3: Behind 21 hits, Gator’s scored seven runs in the first three innings and added nine more runs in the fifth and sixth to win easily. Bill Decker was 4-for-4 with a double and triple. Becky VanWagenen added a 3-for-3 bat with two doubles. Jim Beattie (two doubles, one triple) and Gary Contri (double) provided support as each went 3-for-4.
Jamie Babcock was 3-for-4 with a double for MAC Tools. Deb Contri chipped in by going 2-for-3.
Gator’s 18, Woodman’s 0: Jim Beattie (4 RBIs) and Bill Decker (2B, 3 RBIs) were perfect 4-for-4s at the plate for the winners. Scott Knight added a 3-for-4 effort with a double, home run and four RBIs with Dave Riehlman and Sueann Stahlman providing two hits each, including a double.
Mike Cullip was 2-for-2 for Woodman’s.
Gator’s 9, MAC Tools 6: Scott Knight (2-for-3) hit two home runs and Dave Riehlman (3-for-3) added one homer as Gator’s need four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out the victory. Jim Beattie was also 3-for-3 for the winners.
Kristina Abbott, Jamie Babcock (triple) and Pat Carrier (double) swung 3-for-4 bats for MAC Tools with Charlie Campazano going 2-for-3 to keep MAC Tools in this contest.
DA Yankees 16, Woodman’s 15: N. Krause hit a home run to help Da’s Yankees post the one-ruin victory.
Woodman’s 3, DA Yankees 1: Lyn McDougal allowed just one run and one hit to earn the win in the pitching circle.
Mullen’s Escapes in Dryden

DRYDEN — Bobby Brull doubled home two runs in the bottom of the fourth and then scored on a Scott Phillip’s base hit to account for all the runs Mullen’s Body Shop would need to nip Pall 3-2 in a Dryden Coed Slowpitch League softball outing on Saturday.
Pall had grabbed a 3-2 lead when pitcher Bill Harvey (3x3) hit a two-run homer in the top of the third inning. Val Salerno and Shawn Murphy went 2-fo-3 for Mullen’s, while Amanda O’Dell had a key defensive play to keep the Body Shopers close.
l The Xtinguishers forfeited to Sautter Construction in another scheduled contest.
