Dragon pulls out victory in seventh

Mike Milligan singled home Dicky Arnold with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday night as Red Dragon shaded Hooley’s 11-10 in a Cortland Men’s Slow Pitch American Division softball contest.
In other American Division contests, Hooley’s also lost to Beer Goggles 23-14 and Red Jug Pub was a 16-15 winner over Gator’s Tavern.
In the National Division, Ivan’s wrapped up a 21-3 record, good for the regular season crown, by beating CCRP 19-1. NAPA was a 14-4 winner over Friends and Hess was a 17-5 winner in other National Division games.
AMERICAN DIVISION
Red Dragon 11, Hooley’s 10: Milligan went 3-for-4 for Red Dragon, while Mike Greco (home run, three RBIs), Dan Edwards (triple) and Darren Wright (double) all went 2-for-3.Dan Kile went 4-for-5 for Hooley’s, with Matt Rutkowski (homer, two doubles) and Derek Renninger both went 3-for-4 with two RBIs each.
Beer Goggles 23, Hooley’s 14: Beer Goggles scored seven runs in both the first and third innings and cruised to victory, as Bill House went 4-for-5 with a double and five RBIs, Jerry Durbin 4-for-4 with three runs and Daron Foster 4-for-5 with a double and four runs. In addition, James Burns went 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBIs and Lucas Mauzy was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs.
B. House went 4-for-4 with a double for Hooley’s, while Eric Miller, Ryne Austin and Reed were all 3-for-4.
Red Jug Pub 16, Gator’s Tavern 15: Trevor Norman went 4-for-5 with a double and Steve Everle 3-for-5 for Red Jug Pub. Barry Shaver, Sammy Ingersoll and Chris Guilini had three hits each for the winners, who broke a 13-13 tie with three runs in the top of the seventh and held on in the bottom of the inning for the victory.
NATIONAL DIVISION
Ivan’s 19, CCRP 1: Randy Phillips (home run, double) and Scott Knight (double) both went 4-for-4 for Ivan’s, while Joe DeLee was 3-for-3, Tim Metcalf 2-for-3 with two doubles and Ricky Stauber 2-for-4 with a homer. Billy Grant went 2-for-2 for CCRP, and A.J. Nason doubled.
NAPA 14, Friends 4: Scoring in every inning but the seventh, NAPA cruised to victory as Derer Fiene went 4-for-4 with two triples to pace a 22-hit attack. Brian Dyer and Adam Potter both went 3-for-4 with a double apiece, while John Canzano (homer), Steve Phillips (double) and Bob Nelson all went 2-for-4. Jeremy Baker went 4-for-4 for Friends, while Adam Carroll went 3-for-4 with a triple and Dennis Russell 2-for-4.
Hess 17, The Tavern 5: A.J. Rouse (two homers, double), Steve Furlong (homer), Nick Hoffmann, Danny Marks and Jayme Evans all went 3-for-4 and Cody Clayton homered for Hess, which came back from a 5-1 deficit after three innings to win. Pete Natale (triple) and Matt Bush both went 2-for-3 for The Tavern.
