A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Tri-County Horseshoe Club, Route 38 North, Groton, with a celebration of his life to follow. Shurtleff Funeral Home of Genoa is in charge of arrangements.
WAFFNER — William C. Waffner, 78, formerly of New Woodstock, N.Y., died Aug. 15, 2006, at his home in Groveland, Fla. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Federated Church in New Woodstock.

NICHOLS — Grace D. Nichols, 90, of 3441 Mountville Road, Mountville, S.C., died Aug 14, 2006, at Hospice Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood, S.C. Services were Aug. 16 at Mountville Baptist Church with burial in Mountville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
PARELLI — Jennie I. Parelli, 94, formerly of 51 Port Watson St., Cortland, N.Y., passed away Aug. 21, 2006, at Masonic Care Community in Utica. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church of Dryden. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery, Dryden. There are no calling hours. Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, is assisting the family.
OLIVER — Grace R. Oliver, 90, of Kellogg Road, Cortland, N.Y., died Aug. 21, 2006, at Northwoods Rehabilitation and Extended Care Facility of Cortland. A service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland. Interment will follow in Marathon Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral.
TYLER — Margaret Smith Tyler, 95, of Groton, N.Y., died July 31, 2006, at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca after a brief illness. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Groton Community Church, 204 E. Cortland St., Groton, with a luncheon to follow immediately. Interment will be in Groton Rural Cemetery. PETERS — Wilber Peters, 85, of Cortland, N.Y., died Aug. 18, 2006, at Northwoods Rehabilitation and Extended Care Facility of Cortland. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Homer United Methodist Church, 20 Cayuga St., Homer. Interment will be in Bath National Cemetery. YOUNGS — Frederick James Youngs, 82, formerly of Divers Crossing Road, Marathon, N.Y., and Champlain Road, McLean, N.Y., died Aug. 18, 2006, at Northwoods Rehabilitation and Extended Care Facility in Cortland. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in McLean Rural Cemetery, where military honors will be provided by members of the Dryden Veterans Memorial Home Ritual Team.
