Bantams get nipped after shutout victory

The Economy Paving Bantam Travel youth hockey team split a pair of weekend games, beating the host Jefferson Jaguars 5-0 Saturday in Watertown and falling 4-3 to the visiting Perinton Bantam Major squad on Sunday.
Brandon Ludwig made 25 saves for the shutout against Jefferson as Cortland had a 37-25 shot advantage. Cole Compagni scored twice while Jason Wojcinski, Jared Berry and Ben Gravel each scored one goal.
Compagni and Matt Gombas had a goal and an assist apiece and Dylan Cooper one goal against Perinton, while goalie P.J. Shager made 25 saves.
The Heritage Realty Pee Wee Travel youth hockey team lost 8-1 to the visiting Binghamton Junior Senators Saturday as Adam Buttaccio scored the lone goal and goalies Nick Rogers and Adam Howser combined for seven saves.
The Computing Center squad lost 11-2 to the host Onondaga Thunder on Sunday as Dakota Ayer and Gabriel Derksen each scored a goal. Riley Delage made seven saves and Andrew Kristoff stopped eight shots as they shared time in the visitors’ nets, Onondaga with a 26-9 shot advantage.
The O’Connor & Kruman White team beat host Center State 17-1 on Saturday. Brendan Andrews, Delaney Ayer, Brady Coffin, Dominic Jump, Gabe O’Connor, T.J. Serkiz and Trevor Walden were the goal-scorers, and goalie Liam O’Connor made 11 saves.
The Traver Millwork Red Squad played in a mini-jam at SUNY Morrisville on Saturday, losing 1-0 to Lysander and 3-1 to Whitestown before beating Center State 3-1. Goalie Garrett Clark made 17 saves against Lysander, while Ryan Spalding scored and Clark made 14 saves against Whitestown. Hunter Everle and Aiden Farron were the goal-scorers against Center State and Clark made 14 saves.
