“In the past few years it has become typical for us to go four or five sets with CBA,” CHS coach Cheri Olson noted, her team now 3-2 in the OHSL Freedom/Liberty Division and overall after rallying past the Brothers at Shafer Gymnasium.
“Fortunately it was our night. We had a very good night of serve receive. The girls are passing great. Also, I think that they are calming down a bit and getting used to the quicker pace of varsity,” she added. “It would be great to keep this momentum going throughout the rest of the season. We are definitely getting better with each match.”
Olson praised senior middle blocker Chelsea Vallilee, who had seven kills, two aces and six blocks, for what the coach called “her best night of the season so far.” Junior setter Danielle Lynch had 26 assists, six digs and an ace for the winners, while senior outside hitter Lily Carlton had five kills, 13 digs and two aces, junior outside hitter Lyuda Levitskaya six kills, eight digs and three aces, senior right side Liza Ferro five kills, three aces and nine digs and junior middle blocker Jackie Hoch 16 aces and a dig.
