Golden Eagle trio of second-teamers

Despite finishing second in Division IB of the CNYHSHL in its first season of play in Division I, the Cortland-Homer hockey team did not have any of its players named to the league’s first-team all-stars.
Golden Eagle second-teamers are senior forward Casie Garrison, whose nine goals and 17 points led the squad’s balanced offense; senior defenseman Nick Potter, who in addition to his defensive skills had three goals and eight assists for 11 points, and junior goalie Cory Broyles, who in 11 games compiled a 2.07 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage with two shutouts.
Cortland-Homer’s honorable mentions are junior goalie Brandon Paquin, who in nine games had a 3.26 goal-against average, a save percentage of .899 and one shutout, and junior forward Tim Walsh, who was second on the team in goals with eight and points with 16.
The all-league first team consists of senior forwards T.J. Reilley (the Player of the Year) and Max Bartell, junior forward Garrett Reilley and senior defenseman Kyle Williams from league champion Rome Free Academy; junior defenseman Dave Graf and junior goalie Ryan Bonk from third-place Solvay; sophomore forward Parker Ferrigan from fourth-place and, from sixth-place Fayetteville-Manlius, senior defenseman Ryan Fero. RFA’s Greg Cuthbertson is the Coach of the Year.
Joining the Golden Eagle trio on the second team are RFA freshman defenseman Joey Rutkowski; Solvay seniors Tom Missert (forward), Mike Sniffen (forward) and Alex Tripp (senior) and senior forward Nick Maldonado from fifth-place Utica Proctor.
In addition to the Cortland-Homer pair, other honorable mentions are RFA junior goalie Anthony D’Urso, senior forward Tim Philley and freshman defenseman Tyler Williams; Solvay junior forward Will Downs, senior defenseman Josh Wilton and junior defenseman Forrest Gilbert; Baldwinsville juniors Chris Johns (goalie) and Griffin Noffey (defenseman), Utica Proctor senior forwards Mickey Militano and Faruk Lindan and sophomore defenseman Richard Dorsagno; Fayetteville-Manlius senior forwards Taylor Bellina and Sean Wildhack and, from seventh-place Watertown IHC, junior forward Lindsey Pound, junior goalie Nick Anzalone, senior forward Mike Madill, junior defenseman Stewart Brereton and eighth-grad forward Jordan Trudeau.
