Big inning key to Red Jug Pub split

Thanks to an 8-0 spurt in the first three innings, Red Jug Pub earned a split in a pair of Cortland Men’s Slowpitch Softball League A Division games Friday.
Red Jug downed Woody’s 11-6 in that contest after dropping a 20-6 decision to Bell Construction/Adhan Piping Company. Bell/Adhan also posted a 22-3 romp over Coach’s Corner.
A DIVISION
Red Jug Pub 11, Woody’s 6: Brian Soeffing led the Red Jug attack by going 3-for-3 with a home run. Kyle Rogers was 3-for-4. Steve Bradley hit a triple and Chris Terwilliger added a double.
Chad Parker went 2-for-3 for Woody’s with a double. Matt Compton and J.D. Byrnes also smacked doubles. Moses was also 2-for-3 for Woody’s.
Bell Construction/Adhan Piping 20, Red Jug Pub 6: Bell/Adhan enjoyed a 10-6 lead through four innings before blowing the game open with five runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Troy Boice led the Bell.Adhan attack as he went 5-for-6 with three doubles and three runs scored. Chad Worsell added a 4-for-5 effort with one double with Seth Montgomery was 4-for-5 with a triple. Brian Keefer was 4-for-6 with a triple and home run while Mike Zaccardo added his own 4-for-6 bat with two triples.
Kyle Rogers was 3-for-4 for Red Jug Pub. Nate Leonard pitched in with his 2-for-3 night.
Bell Construction/Adhan Piping 22, Coach’s Corner 3: Bell/Adhan made this a five-inning contest after a big 16-run third inning.
Frank Tibke led the winning attack by going 4-for-4. Seth Montgomery (triple) and Troy Boice each swung 4-for-5 bats while Nick Baker (2 home runs) and Chad Worsell (double, home run) each went 3-for-4.
Jeremy Devereese led Coach’s Corner as he went 2-for-3 with a triple. M. Smith also hit a triple.
