Dragon rolls to victory
Ed Lincoln swung a perfect bat Sunday to pace a victorious 26-hit Red Dragon attack.
Lincoln went 5-for-5 with two doubles and a triple as the Red Dragon posted a 20-5 win over Stone Lounge in Schlenker Over-35 Slowpitch Softball League action.
In another contest, Natoli’s/Gator’s Tavern downed Woodman’s Pub 18-12.
Red Dragon 20, Stone Lounge 5: After building an 8-5 lead over the first two innings, it was the Red Dragon defense that kept Stone Lounge off the scoreboard over the final five innings.
Dave Edwards, Sean Babcock and Jose Feliciano each swung a 3-for-5 bat for Red Dragon.
Dan Edwards added a 3-for-4 effort while Sparky Case went 2-for-2 with a home run.
Rich Price led the Stone Lounge attack as he went 3-for-4 with two doubles.Tony Bates (triple) and Andy Warholic each finished 2-for-3 while Warner and Darbin each went 2-for-4.
Natoli’s/Gator’s Tavern 18, Woodman’s Pub 9: Natoli’s plated eight runs in the top of the first inning and built a 16-0 cushion before Woodman’s scored nine runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Randy Arnold led the Natoli’s/Gator’s attack by going 5-for-6 with two doubles and one triple.
Brian Dyer was 3-for-3 with a double for Woodman’s. Scott Ochs also hit a home run.
Gator’s Playoff Win
In a late playoff report, Dave Hubbard went 4-for-4 with 3 RBIs as Gator’s rolled to a 20-5 Cortland Men’s B Division Slowpitch League first-round softball triumph.
Pete Whitmore added a 3-for-3 bat with a double, triple and two RBIs as Gator’s took game one of the best-of-three series. Tim Wright chipped in with a 3-for-4 bat as he drove in three runs.
