Central City deadlocks series

Central City used a five-run burst in the bottom of the fifth inning to even its Cortland Men’s Slowpitch Softball League A Division playoff semifinal series at one game apiece with Bell Construction/Adhan Piping Thursday.
Central City’s burst gave the home team a 17-14 over Bell/Adhan in the sixth, and final, lead change of the contest.
In B Division, Red Dragon swept its best-of-three series with Gator’s after a 13-3 triumph.
A DIVISION
Central City 17, Bell / Adhan 14: Central City pounded out 23 hits with four players going 3-for-4. Those four were Josh Bogdon (two doubles, three runs scored), Tim Bauman (double, three runs scored), Pat Casselberry (double, three runs scored, four RBIs) and Bill Francis (three RBIs).
Sean Babcock (three runs scored), Alex Coffey (three runs scored) and Set Montgomery (two runs scored) each went 3-for-4 for Bell/Adhan which also recorded 23 hits. Chad Worsell added a 2-for-4 effort with one double and three runs scored.
Game three will decided which team advances to the finals.
B DIVISION
Red Dragon 13, Gator’s 3: Gator’s took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the second inning with Ron Owens’ two-run homer the big hit.
Red Dragon tied the game in the top of the third and scored 10 more runs over the final four innings to pull away and complete the sweep.
Jim Beattie was 4-for-4 and Jose Feliciano went 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs to lead the Dragons. Steve Wright added a 3-for-4 effort while Derek Allen (triple) and Jeremy Milligan (double, triple) each went 3-for-5 with three runs scored.
